News about the movie ranking among my “five most anticipated” list for 2009!
First: I won every bet, so send the chocolate and prepare to pay a round of cider, because I was spot on with guessing what sort of character Jack would play in “The Boat That Rocked”! (OK, it wasn’t that difficult.)
From the official synopsis:
“(…) The explosive movement of rock ‘n’ roll clashes with the government’s Marine Offences Act, an attempt to outlaw the pirates and remove their ghastly influence from the land. All this is spearheaded by the fearsome Minister Dormandy (Kenneth Branagh), his aide Dominic Twatt, and assistant Miss Clitt. (…)”
Dominic Twatt is Jack Davenport, as you know, and while “Twatt” and “Clitt” make me cringe (who came up with that – a spotty 12 year old? Russell Brand?), the idea of having the 60ies version of Norrington chasing beatnik!Davy Jones is hilarious.
In other news:
The new release date for “The Boat That Rocked” is 1 April, 2009!
No joke! And the movie has its official website now. So far, you can find only the trailer and the synopsis there, but more will be coming soon!
If that’s not a good start into 2009, then I don’t know what is. More to come, we’ll keep you posted!
