Just when you thought that all news was bad news, we get some good news:

FLASHFORWARD: SEASON ONE PT. 1 (Region 1)

is now available for purchase!

Region 1, that is. Woe is us, we Europeans have to wait until 27 September, 2010, for the Region 2 version, but hey – you can already

PRE-ORDER THE REGION 2 DVD!

You all know the plot (“Blackout! FlashForward! Chaos! Kangaroos! The Hobbit did it! No, Sparky did! Shakespeare?!?”), so I won’t repeat it here. When it comes to DVDs, the extras are of special importance and interest, and it looks like the FlashForward DVD has some interesting tidbits to offer. The 2-disc box set includes all 10 episodes from the first half of the season, and the following bonus material:

CREATING A CATASTROPHE: THE EFFECTS OF A GLOBAL BLACKOUT
Go behind-the-scenes of the pilot and discover what went in to creating FlashForward’s most iconic scene, the freeway disaster. ¬†Through interviews with David S. Goyer and his production team we go on the set to see how destruction is developed and explosions are executed.

FLASHFORWARD: A LOOK AHEAD
Be the first to get a “FlashForward” with this exclusive look at the teaser to episode 111.

“COULD”
A look at the second half of FlashForward Season 1, narrated by Dominic Monaghan.

Sounds good? Very likely is! Check out the teaser clips:

And because we’re shallow and Jack Davenport is a certified M.O.T.E.M. – pictures!

The more you know: thanks to Dominic Monaghan’s interview in “Metro” (not exactly top class journalism, but they run Nemi, that’s a plus), we now know that Jack Davenport supports Arsenal and likes Marmite. Hard blows, but not enough to close the website down… you can read the interview here:

YADDA YADDA LOST YADDA YADDA MARMITE

I love how it’s implied that fans who have flown out to see him from all over the world are weird. I suppose flying in from LA to see ManU would be completely normal, though. Eh.

And there’s another interview, this time with Robert J. Sawyer over on

SCIFICHICK

which makes for interesting reading. He’s a fan of Jack Davenport; no idea if he supports Arsenal or ManU, though, and I don’t know where he stands in the Marmite-controversy…

And after we’ve had two people talking about Jack Davenport, it’s time for a video with

JACK DAVENPORT TALKING ABOUT LLOYD SIMCOE

“So that covers Flash Forward and Marmite and Arsenal – where’s the magic you promised?”

Here:

VIDEO: GO BEHIND THE MAGIC!

Magic consultant Jonathan Levit teaches Jack Davenport a vanishing coin trick.

Robert J. Sawyer (author of “Flash Forward”) and Jack Davenport (who’ll play one of the leads in the series). Picture pilfered from the author’s blog.

Congratulations! It was about time… I’ll keep my fingers crossed for a smashing success of the series and hope for many close-ups of Jack Davenport.

Nothing, as I wasn’t watching. But if you’d like to see the promos for “Flash Forward” flashed and forwarded in “Lost”, please go here:

WHAT DID YOU SEE? PROMO

Flash Forward seems to have an official website now as well; all very cryptic and hipster and thedarkknightesque, alas without The Joker. I guess the idea is that you leave your email and get updates for the show. I’ll do that now, and if I get any spam, I’ll know where it comes from.

THE MOSAIC COLLECTIVE

For now, it’s “wait and see”, I guess.

Shootings for new Sci-Fi series “Flash Forward” started in February, and author Robert J. Sawyer posted a short review and some pictures on his blog. Please click the star below to read more – who knows, you might see a familiar face…

No, not us – the brand new TV series “Flash Forward”. That was quick! And it’s not in pink, which is a plus. Pink, lilac and all other questionable colours are already covered by us, after all. Click on the link below and bookmark the site for all things “Flash Forward” – it looks like the place to find all the information you’d need:

“FlashForwardTV is a fansite created 14 December 2008 by the same people who brought to you Lost-TV, the first fansite dedicated to the ABC hit series Lost. FlashForwardTV aims to bring the latest news and information on the show until it finally airs.”

See, that’s professional. I think we need some catchy slogan for “Good Boy, Sparky!” as well. How about “The Unofficial Jack Davenport Website – Promoting Questionable Fashion Sense Since 2008”?

Jack Davenport will be in the pilot for 30 seconds, by the way. They cater to my low attention span.

“(…) And my wife Carolyn is over the moon, because Jack Davenport, whom she has had a big crush on since he starred as Steve in the British sitcom Coupling, is playing Lloyd Simcoe. (…)”

Yes, yes, I know, probably not the most relevant news, but come on – awww! Take a chair, Carolyn, have a cuppa and we’ll discuss the pros and cons of sofa parasites.

For the more serious fans: according to Robert J. Sawyer, filming for the pilot will begin in nine weeks and start on 19 February, 2009, in Los Angeles.

In further news, I’ve updated the website with the latest news (Hungry Hamsters, Psychotica, Flash Forward) and tried to get this blog here into a Yuleishchristmassy mood. Don’t whinge, at least I didn’t put up illuminated reindeer or sparkly Santas…
