Only if they threw Andrew Buchan into the mix, but as things are, this is going to be fantabulous as it is!

Thanks to Karen and the fine folks over at James Darcy.net for the heads-up that the casting for “Gernika” has been confirmed. Our very own Jack Davenport and the very lovely James D’Arcy! Mr Norrington and Mr Pullings in the same movie, be still, my heart of oak…

READ ALL ABOUT IT HERE

If you hear “Guernica” you think, of course, of Picasso’s painting with the same title (Gernika is the Basque name of Guernica). It shows the horror and devastation of the bombing of Guernica/Gernika during the Spanish civil war.

According to IMDB:

The fates of Henry (James D’Arcy) – a cynical American correspondent who has lost his soul – and Teresa (Maria Valverde), one of the Republic’s censors and in charge of overseeing the news that journalists can send abroad, cross in Gernika.

Jack Davenport will play “Vasyl” – more information will follow as it becomes available.

According to IMDB, it is rumored that Jack Davenport is going to be in the next Pirates of the Caribbean installment, Dead Men Tell No Tales. Check it out for yourself here.

Also, according to Mr. Davenport’s CV posted on his agent’s site HERE, he’s going to be playing a character named Lancelot in the upcoming movie The Secret Service. This seems to be less of a rumor than the POTC news, but until it’s officially announced, we’ll still call it a rumor.

We’ll keep you posted as this news is confirmed (or not!).

Also, you can pre-order the Mother’s Milk DVD at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Mothers-Milk-DVD/dp/B00A8MBR0M/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1355949885&sr=1-1

Although amazon.co.uk lists the DVD as Region 2, we are assured by the Mother’s Milk PR folks that the DVD is REGION 0 PAL, which means it can be played on any PAL system. This includes some countries outside Region 2. Check this site to see if your country uses the PAL system: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PAL-NTSC-SECAM.svg. You’re not in these countries? Check to see if your computer will play PAL DVDs. (But don’t ask me how to do that!)

The going rate for the Mother’s Milk DVD is £9.00, and the release date is April 2. And amazon.co.uk promises that if their listed price decreases between the time you place your order and the release date, you’ll be charged the lowest price. What a deal!

Also according to the film’s PR folks, they don’t have the rights to release the movie in cinemas outside the UK and Ireland. The film is still making the rounds in these countries – it premiered in London in November and has since opened in Cork, Dublin, Brighton and Sheffield. There are rumors that it might open in Dorset in February. So if you’re out and about in these areas, you might be able to catch the movie on the big screen.

Credit to Frank for digging out this new feature on IMDB . I’m happy to announce that I beat him, yay! This victory is all the sweeter after my embarassing defeat elsewhere; you know you’re a fannish failure if you play a trivia quiz about one of your favourite actors with a dog and the dog wins. Then again, I’m a dog as well…. eh, enough with the canine navel-gazing, try your luck and see if you can beat Frank and me (shouldn’t be too difficult!)

For now, we’re leaving you with some pictures from “Mother’s Milk”, which really exists, no, seriously, no kiddin’, will be released on 9 November in the UK and promises to be awesome. If you like the pictures below, you can get more on MOTHER’S MILK @ FAKEBOOK.

Why, yes, we think he’s smokin’.

It was a blast. It was da bomb. It was smashing. And now we have to wait for what, nine, ten months? I could have two litters of puppies in that time, fly to Mars and spend my holidays there or even get a human being on the other end of the BT helpline!

But better late than no season two at all.

Bring it on, Sparky!

In completely different news:

Jack Davenport on Anthony Minghella

Somebody told me early on in our rehearsal period for the film that my character, Peter Smith-Kingsley (who in the novel appears in only one scene), had become in Ant’s writing an amalgam of qualities that he most admired in people. I found this information frankly terrifying, but Ant put it to me slightly differently. He said that Peter was the only character in the story who was comfortable in their own skin, and it was this quality that attracted Tom Ripley.
